IT Support Engineer

Salary: RM 6,000 – RM 8,000 per month

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to support daily IT operations at our manufacturing facility in Gelang Patah, Johor. This is a full-time, on-site position within our Information Management team.

You will support office and production IT infrastructure, resolve technical issues, and coordinate with local departments and our group IT team in China.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot office and production-support networks, including LAN connectivity, IP allocation, MAC address binding and network access controls.

• Install, configure and maintain Windows, macOS and Linux computers. Resolve software and hardware issues, optimise systems and replace faulty components.

• Provide technical support for printers, scanners, access control systems, CCTV and other office and factory IT peripherals.

• Inspect and maintain servers, core switches, UPS units and server-room facilities. Record equipment status and respond promptly to abnormalities.

• Support corporate email, OA, SAP, internal management and fixed asset systems, including account creation, permissions, user assistance and basic troubleshooting.

• Perform data backups, archiving and recovery, and follow company information security and confidentiality procedures.

• Manage IT assets, including registration, employee issuance, transfers, inventory checks, disposal approvals and record updates.

• Support employee onboarding and offboarding through device deployment, account setup, user training, equipment recovery, access removal and data archiving.

• Identify IT risks across offices and production areas, resolve production-support IT issues, and assist with network improvements, security initiatives and group IT projects.

• Use Feishu/Lark and other collaboration platforms to coordinate with local departments and the group IT team.

• Maintain incident logs, inspection records, asset reports and IT documentation. Report operational status and corrective actions to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of corporate IT support or IT operations experience. Manufacturing IT experience is preferred; overseas assignment experience is an advantage.

• Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS and Linux installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

• Strong skills in computer hardware diagnostics, component replacement and peripheral support.

• Sound knowledge of LAN infrastructure, IP addressing, MAC address binding and network access management.

• Familiarity with ping, traceroute, hardware diagnostics, data backup and recovery tools.

• Experience with routine server, switch, UPS and server-room maintenance.

• Familiarity with corporate email, OA, SAP, fixed asset systems and user access administration.

• Proficiency with Feishu/Lark or similar collaboration platforms.

• Good spoken and written Chinese and English. Chinese is required for communication with our group IT team in China and for reading Chinese-language technical documentation.

• Ability to troubleshoot independently, prioritise incidents and provide timely support.

• Strong responsibility, attention to detail, service orientation and teamwork.

• Commitment to data confidentiality, information security and safe operation of IT equipment in a manufacturing environment.

• Willingness to work on-site in Gelang Patah on a long-term basis and support local and group IT initiatives.
