IT System Engineer I
About the role
This role provides IT Helpdesk and end-user support, delivering technical assistance on desktop, laptop, iPad and in-house applications to corporate users. You will maintain and troubleshoot various Microsoft Windows OS and applications, manage networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls, and handle deployment of workstations and IT equipment. The role includes administration of VMWare, MS Windows Server, AD, Exchange and MS SQL, management of IT hardware and software inventory, and liaison with external vendors to troubleshoot IT issues.
Key responsibilities
Provide IT Helpdesk and end-user support
Provide technical assistance on desktop/laptop/iPad and in-house applications to corporate users
Maintain and troubleshoot various Microsoft Windows OS and applications
Maintain and troubleshoot networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls
Deploy workstations (desktop/laptop/iPad) and other IT equipment
Administer VMWare, MS Windows Server, AD, Exchange and MS SQL
Manage IT hardware and software inventory
Assist in procurement of IT hardware and related administrative matters
Liaise with external vendors to troubleshoot IT issues
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or end-user support
Hands-on experience in supporting and troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and mobile device hardware and software
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Office 365) administration, including Exchange Online and user account management
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, desktop applications, and Windows Server environments
Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policies, and basic Microsoft SQL Server
Good understanding of network infrastructure and security, including WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, routers, and switches
Experience with backup and recovery solutions, including backup hardware and software
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Proven experience providing end-user technical support, managing service requests, and coordinating with external vendors
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support users across all levels of the organisation.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong customer service mindset.
