We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team and help ensure our IT environment is secure, reliable, efficient and responsive.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of IT, the IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the ongoing administration, maintenance, security and support of Jewish Care Victoria's IT environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring the availability and performance of our systems and infrastructure, proactively identifying issues before they impact the organisation, while providing high-quality technical support to our staff.

The role combines systems administration, infrastructure, cloud technologies, cyber security, backup and disaster recovery, and support.

Key responsibilities

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Proactively maintain IT systems and infrastructure to minimise unplanned outages and disruption to critical services.
  • Configure, maintain and support servers, infrastructure, cloud environments and business applications.
  • Configure and support Microsoft environments and cloud platforms.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Ensure systems and critical data are appropriately protected, backed up and replicated.
  • Configure and support backup solutions, including Veeam and Azure.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing and continuous improvement.

Helpdesk & End User Support

  • Receive, log, prioritise and manage requests for support, changes and incidents through the Service Desk.
  • Assess and prioritise requests according to urgency, impact and business requirements.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to staff across Jewish Care.
  • Resolve helpdesk requests in-house wherever possible.

About you

You are a technically strong and solutions-focused IT professional who enjoys solving problems and supporting people.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in an IT Systems Administrator role within a medium to large, multi-site and/or 24/7 environment.
  • Previous experience working within a helpdesk support environment.
  • Experience supporting multiple critical business applications requiring 24x7 availability.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Experience maintaining and support Microsoft Server Stack and virtual environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and determine practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of or experience working within ITIL principles.
