You will work closely with our existing Network & Hardware Engineer and the MIS Manager, supporting CADIT users and systems globally. The role is designed for someone who wants to build a strong career in IT infrastructure and systems administration.

We are looking for someone who is curious, methodical, hands-on, willing to learn and genuinely interested in infrastructure. Training and certification support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with server installation, configuration, firmware, RAID, operating systems and monitoring.

  • Perform hardware replacement including disks, power supplies, memory and fans.

  • Maintain rack equipment, cabling, labelling, UPS systems and physical infrastructure.

  • Coordinate data-centre access, remote hands and scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Maintain proper change records and infrastructure documentation.

Network & Infrastructure Support

  • Work alongside the Network & Hardware Engineer to learn and support:

  • Firewalls

  • VLANs

  • Switches

  • Wireless networks

  • IP addressing

  • DNS and DHCP

  • VPN connectivity

  • Handle routine network troubleshooting and changes under appropriate supervision.

  • Progressively develop the capability to provide infrastructure cover when the incumbent engineer is unavailable.

  • Support networking requirements for CAD-IT's IoT and project deployments where required.

Backup, Patching & Monitoring

  • Monitor backup jobs and investigate failures.

  • Perform and document periodic restore tests.

  • Support operating system and firmware patching activities.

  • Monitor infrastructure alerts and system health.

  • Maintain records for backup, recovery and business continuity procedures.

SaaS & Platform Administration

  • Administer CAD-IT's internal monday.com account, including users, licenses, permissions, workspaces and boards.

  • Support administration of other business SaaS platforms managed by MIS.

  • Maintain accurate user access and license records.

  • Identify opportunities to improve platform governance and operational efficiency.

Documentation & Asset Management

  • Maintain hardware and software asset registers.

  • Track licenses, warranties and equipment ownership.

  • Maintain network diagrams, rack layouts, cable schedules and technical documentation.

  • Create and maintain practical runbooks and standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure infrastructure changes are properly documented.

Global IT Support

  • Provide remote IT support to CAD-IT users and offices outside Singapore.

  • Communicate clearly with users across different time zones.

  • Explain technical issues in simple, non-technical language.

  • Maintain clear ticket updates and follow through until issues are resolved.

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Develop your skills across systems administration, networking, infrastructure and security.

  • Complete relevant training and certifications supported by the company.

  • Work towards Microsoft, CompTIA and other relevant infrastructure certifications.

  • Develop sufficient cross-functional knowledge to provide infrastructure coverage and support.

Requirements:

Must Have

  • Post-secondary qualifications in IT, Information Technology, Infocom Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.

  • Candidates with ITE Higher Nitec, Polytechnic Diploma or Degree are welcome to apply.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including:

  • IP addressing and subnets

  • DNS

  • DHCP

  • VLANs

  • Switches

Exposure to any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Microsoft 365 administration

  • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA or Microsoft certifications, including certifications currently in progress.

We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate:

  • Hands-on curiosity: You enjoy building, fixing and understanding how things work.

  • Methodical thinking: You troubleshoot logically rather than randomly changing things.

  • Attention to detail: You understand that small mistakes in infrastructure can have big consequences.

  • Ownership: You follow an issue through to resolution rather than simply passing it on.

  • Documentation discipline: You understand that good IT work should be repeatable and understandable by others.

  • Security awareness: You take access, credentials and endpoint protection seriously.

  • Service mindset: You understand that when someone's laptop or access is down, their work is blocked.
