IVI HMI Design Engineer

Leading Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer

Responsibilities:

  • Create HMI specifications for automotive systems, including Infotainment dashboards, touchscreens, control panels, and voice-activated systems.
  • Define HMI screen transitions and status transitions.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers, engineers, and product managers to integrate HMI designs with vehicle systems.
  • Gap analysis of HMI specifications definition versus HMI assets.
  • Ensure that HMI designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in HMI design and technology.

Requirements:

Must Have *Either of below experiences

  • 4+ years of experience in Infotainment HMI Design
  • HMI Design Expertise.

・ Experience with HMI design tools and software such as Adobe illustrator, Zeplin, Figma, Sketch, 3D Blender or similar

・ Experience in production programs

・ Worked on HMI design of various Infotainment features (e.g, Phone and Projection, Media & Radio, HVAC etc.)

Technical Skills

・ Basic knowledge of programming languages or scripting for HMI development, such as Adobe, Photoshop, HTML5, CSS

・ Excellent knowledge on various design practices, 3D modelling & animation tools

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design

・ Ability to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces

・ Experience with UX research methods, usability testing, and user-centered design principles

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills

・ Ability to iterate and refine designs based on testing results and user feedback

Automotive Domain specific expertise

・ HMI Design Engineers need to consider specific factors such as driver distraction, safety, and integration with vehicle systems
