Requirements
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable, high-performance software solutions.
You will be responsible for developing backend applications using Java 21 or 25 and Spring Boot, building microservices and event-driven architectures with Kafka, and contributing to cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and automated deployments.
This is an opportunity for a technically driven professional with strong software engineering skills, experience with modern development tools and AI-assisted coding, and a passion for building reliable, maintainable solutions in a fast-paced and international environment.
Your main responsabilities
5+ years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in Java 21 or 25.
Solid experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices and software architecture.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
Experience with Maven, automated testing and relational or NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure, and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools, such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
Strong knowledge of clean code, SOLID principles, code reviews and software quality practices.
Experience working in Agile environments, with strong problem-solving skills and technical autonomy.
What we´re looking for
Design, develop, test and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and maintain microservices, REST APIs and event-driven solutions using Kafka.
Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure code quality, security, performance and maintainability.
Implement automated tests and support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
Apply DevOps practices and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve development efficiency.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement across systems.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
Work Model
Lisbon or Porto-based role;
Primarily office-based, with up to three remote working days per week.
