About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join ourEngineering Transformation team to modernise a large-scale Books and Recordsplatform. You will be part of a greenfield migration from legacy on-premisesystems to a cloud-native platform on AWS, building scalable, data-drivenapplications that process high transaction volumes across the firm's post-tradeecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
  • Build scalable and reliable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and optimise system performance.
  • Develop clean, reusable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support the migration of legacy applications to cloud-native AWS solutions.

Requirements

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of Java development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases such as DB2 or Sybase.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and JUnit.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
