Role Overview

The Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable software solutions across multiple industries. Working within cross-functional teams, the role focuses on building high-quality applications, contributing to technical problem-solving, and ensuring seamless system integration. This position supports the delivery of impactful software while promoting continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Responsibility 1: Software Development & Delivery Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java and related technologies Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned to best practices Contribute to technical design and solution architecture discussions Ensure software meets performance, security, and reliability standards Responsibility 2: Collaboration & Requirements Alignment Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse requirements Translate business needs into technical solutions Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout delivery Support continuous improvement of development processes Responsibility 3: Front-End & User Experience Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces Ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience across applications Collaborate with UI/UX teams where applicable Responsibility 4: Data Management & Integration Design and optimise databases using SQL Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability Work with APIs and system integrations (e.g., RESTful services) Responsibility 5: Testing, Quality & Continuous Improvement Conduct testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards Stay current with industry trends and contribute to knowledge sharing Requirements Essential Skills & Experience 5 Years + Strong proficiency in Java development and object-oriented programming Experience with Spring Boot, Java EE, or similar frameworks Solid understanding of SQL and database design Experience with RESTful APIs and system integration Familiarity with Agile methodologies, version control (Git), and development tools (e.g., Jira) Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Desirable Skills & Experience 4 years + Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React Understanding of security principles (e.g., OAuth) Familiarity with design patterns and software engineering best practices Exposure to modern tools and technologies in software development environments Qualifications Degree in Computer Science or related field (advantageous) Equivalent practical experience considered Behavioural Competencies Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Proactive and continuous learning mindset Attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong ownership and accountability What We Offer Opportunities to work on impactful projects across multiple industries Continuous learning and exposure to modern technologies Flexible hybrid working environment Competitive compensation and benefits A collaborative, inclusive culture focused on growth and excellence
