About the role
We are seeking a talented Java Developer at Junior to Mid Level to join our dynamic development team at NCS Philippines. This is a full-time position based in Taguig City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java applications that power our solutions. You will work collaboratively with experienced developers and contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualisation through to deployment and support. Key responsibilities:
Develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java applications and components in accordance with coding standards and best practices
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code whilst maintaining code quality and consistency across projects
Collaborate with senior developers, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peer developers to improve code quality
Debug and troubleshoot applications, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner
Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and system components under guidance from senior team members
Maintain and enhance existing Java applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
Participate in documentation and knowledge-sharing activities to support team learning and development
Stay updated with emerging Java technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Solid understanding of Java programming fundamentals, including object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
Proficiency with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate
Experience with relational databases (SQL) and demonstrated ability to write efficient queries
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
Knowledge of RESTful web services and API development
Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically and analytically
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality code
Preferred experience: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), or microservices architecture
Preferred experience: Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
