Detailed Job Description:

As a Java Developer / Lead at JobGini in Singapore, you will take full ownership of designing and coding scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and SOAP services while ensuring adherence to non-functional requirements such as high performance, reliability, availability, and security. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass defining implementation patterns, building quality accelerators, evaluating emerging industry technologies, and mitigating design risks across complex distributed platforms. You will write clean, maintainable code using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and messaging middleware like Kafka, JMS, and MQ. Furthermore, you will drive API management through API gateways, establish Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, implement OAuth token-based security, and write automated deployment pipelines for containerized microservices running on Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and implement large distributed systems and enterprise microservices architectures.
• Translate complex functional requirements into robust, maintainable, and scalable technical designs.
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to understand system specifications and ensure seamless integration.
• Define architectural best practices, coding standards, and implementation patterns for microservice development.
• Lead activities to build quality accelerators, development tools, and automated testing frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging industry technologies to shape service design considering cost, portability, compatibility, and usability.
• Identify design risks, provide alternative options, and recommend high-quality solutions to technical problems.
• Develop high-performance applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and modern design patterns.
• Build and secure RESTful APIs and SOAP services, defining comprehensive Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
• Configure event-driven messaging middleware such as MQ, JMS, and Apache Kafka.
• Write deployment pipelines to containerize and deploy Java microservices into Kubernetes production clusters.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of professional technical experience within architecture development, backend systems integration, and software engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, Java 8+, and the Spring Boot framework.
• Deep technical knowledge of SOA, Service-Oriented Architecture, Microservices design, and REST/SOAP services development.
• Proven experience with testing frameworks including JUnit and Cucumber.
• Strong practical knowledge of clean code principles, design patterns, and secure coding standards (including PCI compliance).
• Experience with messaging middleware and event-driven design patterns (MQ, JMS, Kafka).
• Familiarity with Spring Cloud and API Management using enterprise API Gateways.
• Practical experience writing deployment pipelines and deploying microservices on Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OAuth token-based authentication protocols and REST design principles.
