Java Developer
We're hiring a
Senior Software Engineer
to join a technology team building and supporting a
mission-critical securities trade processing platform
used to handle high volumes of financial transactions.
You'll work on distributed Java systems where
performance, reliability and low latency
matter — from designing new services to troubleshooting complex production issues.
What you'll do Build and enhance high-performance
Java applications and distributed services Develop event-driven systems using
Kafka, JMS or similar Work on concurrency, messaging, fault tolerance and high-throughput processing Profile and optimise applications across
JVM, memory, CPU and threads Investigate production issues, perform RCA and deliver lasting fixes Use SQL to troubleshoot data discrepancies across distributed systems Build automated integration and end-to-end testing Work with product, architecture and platform teams on system improvements Support platform modernisation while maintaining production stability Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development and operational efficiency
What we're looking for 5+ years of hands-on Java engineering experience Strong Core Java,
multithreading/concurrency and JVM internals Experience with
high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems Strong understanding of messaging concepts including ordering, idempotency, retries and failure recovery Hands-on performance profiling and optimisation experience Strong
SQL
skills Experience with automated integration/E2E testing Production support, incident management and RCA experience Familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering tools Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
Nice to have Experience in
capital markets/securities trading , Snowflake, Prometheus/Grafana/Elasticsearch, Maven or Gradle, state-machine workflows, or modernising legacy enterprise platforms. If you enjoy solving
