Java Developer

Salary: $120 - $140 per hour (inc. super)

• 6 + 12 month contract – Dec start date
• NV1 Security Clearance - Civic, ACT
• Java and J2EE development

Our client, a Federal Government department based in Civic, ACT, that provides Australians with an independent electoral service, requires the services of a Java Developer for a 6 + 12 month contract.

Duties of the Java Developer:

• Designing, developing, implementing, and testing software systems, in line with business requirements and software development standards.
• investigate and resolve issues with the operation of an application.
• Addressing errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program.
• Performing revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs.
• Providing a high standard of technical and design documentation.
• Assisting in the development of specialist and/or technical expertise to less experienced and more junior developers.

Skills and Experience - Java Developer:

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high quality, robust and scalable enterprise level software solutions using Java and Java EE.
• Relevant qualifications in information technology.
• Expertise in software version upgrades.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of Australian electoral law and practice.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of the Commonwealth frameworks, including ICT frameworks.
