Java Developer (Struts Framework)
Summary
A Java developer builds and maintains web applications using the Struts framework, Hibernate ORM, and SQL Server at a financial software company. Day-to-day work includes coding, debugging, unit testing, code reviews, and technical documentation, working in Eclipse with Tomcat/JBoss servers.
Strong proficiency in Java programming, including knowledge of Java 8 features.
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
Struts Framework:
Experience in developing web applications using the Struts framework.
Configuration, actions, and form handling within Struts.
Hibernate:
Familiarity with Hibernate for Object-Relational Mapping (ORM).
SQL Server:
Knowledge of SQL Server databases.
Ability to write SQL queries for Aggregations (e.g., SUM, COUNT, AVG); Functions (e.g., DATE functions, string functions);Creating views and stored procedures.
IDEs and Application Servers:
Proficiency in using Eclipse IDE.
Familiarity with Tomcat and JBoss application servers.
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2019.
Good analytical thinking & communication skill.
Good attitude and Able to work well in a team or independently.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in development and implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain web applications using Struts framework.

Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications, and provide timely resolutions.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development, and apply them to improve the quality and performance of applications.
Write and execute unit tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of code.
Implement security measures to protect applications from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Document technical specifications, user manuals, and other relevant documentation to ensure effective communication and knowledge transfer.
