Summary
Wizeline, an AI-native technology services company, is hiring a Java Software Engineer in Barcelona (hybrid) to build and maintain distributed backend systems. Daily work centers on Java 11-21 microservices with Spring Boot, Docker/Kubernetes with Istio, CI/CD (Jenkins), cloud (AWS/Azure), and automated testing and monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana.

Must-have Skills
Core Technical Skills
- Java (11/17/21) – Deep understanding of multithreading, memory management, performance optimization, and concurrent data processing.
- Spring & Spring Boot – Expertise in building RESTful APIs, dependency injection, configuration management, and Spring Data/JPA integration.
- Microservices Architecture – Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems using service mesh patterns (Istio) with Docker and Kubernetes.
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), automated testing, and environment management (staging, prod, integration).
- Experience with container orchestration, deployment strategies (blue/green, rolling updates), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
Testing & Quality
- Proficiency with JUnit, Mockito, and integration testing frameworks.
- Ability to design and maintain automated API tests and validation suites within CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience defining performance metrics, profiling, and resolving bottlenecks in large-scale systems.
Nice-to-have:
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
