Summary
Maintains and enhances an on-premise Java backend system for a well-known Dutch organization — fixing bugs, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and upholding clean-code and security standards in a scrum team. Hybrid role with one onsite day per week.
I am seeking skilled Java Developers (Mid to Senior level) to join my client in supporting and optimizing an on-premise backend system within a complex environment. The team is collaborative and you have the chance to work in a dynamic ambience, making a big impact in a well-known organization. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the system, implementing new business requirements, and upholding code quality and security standards. This role requires active communication, a focus on best practices, and collaboration with other team members to prevent key man risk.
Hybrid: Once a week onsite

Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize the existing on-premise backend system
- Troubleshoot and resolve system bugs
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Enhance code quality by following clean code principles and implementing best practices
- Ensure adherence to security standards
- Collaborate closely with team members, sharing knowledge and insights
- Participate in team meetings and scrum ceremonies
- Mentor and coach fellow developers
Profile
- Mid or Senior Java Developer with strong backend development experience
- Proven experience with complex systems and migrations
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate solutions clearly
