Java Software Engineer – Market Risk Technology
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications supporting Market Risk.
- Contribute to complex projects and strategic technology initiatives.
- Design and architect scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
- Work with large relational databases and optimize complex queries.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Apply software engineering best practices and design patterns.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications and improve their performance.
- Support production environments and BAU requests.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and contribute to the technical roadmap.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools and automation solutions.
- Explore and leverage AI agents and automation tools throughout software development, testing/validation and production deployment.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring and relational databases.
- Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with relational database logical modelling.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large relational databases.
- Experience with JUnit and unit testing.
- Ability to write scripts using Shell and/or Python.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established coding standards.
- Experience working in an international/global environment is an advantage.
