Java Software Engineer

We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our United Kingdom office on a freelance contract basis.

This role requires Java development skills, a solid understanding of software development principles, and excellent communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–10 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and best practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and services.
• Design and implement scalable software solutions using Java.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support microservices-based applications.
• Perform database operations, write SQL queries, and support data management activities.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure application performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards and software development best practices.
• Support application testing, integration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to project delivery processes.
