Java Software Engineer

About The Role:

We’re expanding our Technology & Transformation practice and are looking for an experienced Java Developer to help design and deliver innovative, secure, cloud‑native solutions for our clients across multiple industries.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining high‑quality Java applications
• Building and securing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot / Spring MVC
• Contributing to architecture and system design, including non‑functional requirements
• Supporting live services, troubleshooting production issues, and improving observability
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to the wider engineering community

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java (JVM languages such as Kotlin or Scala welcome)
• Solid knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles and design patterns
• Experience with Spring Framework, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Confidence communicating complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Kafka, SQS, Serverless (Lambda)
• Monitoring & logging tools (ELK, Dynatrace, Splunk)
• JPA / Hibernate, Swagger / OpenAPI, automated testing tools
• Experience delivering projects from backlog through to production
