Job Description Tools Administrator

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tools Administrator responsible for administration, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise IT management tools. The candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in OpManager as the primary skill and working knowledge of Endpoint Central for endpoint management, patching, software deployment, and compliance.

The role involves working closely with Infrastructure, Network, Server, Database, Security, Service Desk, and Application teams to ensure effective monitoring, proactive alert management, infrastructure availability, and endpoint compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. OpManager Primary Skill

• Install, configure, administer and maintain OpManager monitoring infrastructure.
• Configure monitoring for:
• Windows and Linux servers
• Network devices – routers, switches, firewalls
• VMware/virtualization infrastructure
• Storage and other infrastructure components
• URLs, services, ports and applications
• Configure and maintain:
• Device templates
• Performance monitors
• Thresholds
• Availability monitoring
• Notifications and escalation policies
• Business views and dashboards
• Monitor CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, network, process and service utilization.
• Develop and maintain custom monitors and monitoring templates based on infrastructure requirements.
• Analyze monitoring alerts and eliminate false positives.
• Implement alert correlation and event suppression where applicable.
• Configure email/SMS/notification-based alerting and escalation.
• Integrate OpManager with ITSM or other ticketing platforms.
• Support API-based integrations and automation.
• Develop operational dashboards and management reports.
• Perform capacity and trend analysis using monitoring data.
• Troubleshoot monitoring failures, agent/connectivity issues and polling problems.
• Perform OpManager upgrades, patches, backup and restoration activities.
• Maintain OpManager architecture, database and application health.
• Participate in major incident troubleshooting using OpManager monitoring data.
• Ensure monitoring coverage for newly onboarded infrastructure.

2. Endpoint Central – Secondary Skill

• Administer ManageEngine Endpoint Central.
• Manage Windows/Linux endpoint inventory and device discovery.
• Configure and manage:
• Patch management
• Software deployment
• Application installation/uninstallation
• Configuration policies
• Remote troubleshooting
• Endpoint compliance
• Create and manage patch deployment policies.
• Schedule monthly security/OS patching activities.
• Monitor patch compliance and remediation status.
• Troubleshoot failed patch deployments.
• Prepare patch compliance reports for management/audit requirements.
• Manage software packages and deployment configurations.
• Support endpoint hardening and configuration compliance.
• Assist Security teams with vulnerability remediation.
• Support OS/software upgrade activities.

3. Reporting & Governance

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly monitoring reports.
• Generate infrastructure availability and performance reports.
• Prepare:
• Availability reports
• Alert reports
• Capacity reports
• Patch compliance reports
• Endpoint compliance reports
• SLA/KPI reports
• Support internal, customer and regulatory audits.
• Maintain evidence for tool configuration, patching and monitoring compliance.
• Review and improve monitoring KPIs and operational dashboards.
