KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.
Job Purpose
The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the Project Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities comply with ADNOC Offshore requirements, project specifications, international standards, and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001, ADNOC Offshore specifications, and project requirements.
- Review and ensure compliance of Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
- Monitor project activities to ensure conformance with approved quality requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Support the Project Quality Manager in achieving project quality objectives and key performance indicators.
Inspection & Surveillance
- Conduct quality surveillance of fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure inspection activities are performed in accordance with approved ITPs and project specifications.
- Coordinate with ADNOC Offshore representatives, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors during inspections and audits.
- Witness testing and inspection activities including hydrotesting, pressure testing, NDT, welding inspections, coating inspections, and mechanical completion activities.
Welding & NDT Quality Control
- Review and approve WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records.
- Monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, and project requirements.
- Verify NDT activities including RT, UT, MT, PT, and visual inspections.
- Review welding and NDT reports and maintain quality records.
Material Quality Control
- Verify material receiving inspections and certification compliance.
- Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and traceability documentation.
- Ensure proper identification, preservation, storage, and handling of materials.
- Monitor procurement quality requirements and vendor quality performance.
NCR and Corrective Actions
- Raise, review, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up on implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Monitor quality trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Audits & Compliance
- Participate in internal, supplier, subcontractor, and external audits.
- Support ADNOC Offshore quality audits and surveillance visits.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE and quality requirements.
- Prepare quality performance reports and audit findings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project quality records and documentation.
- Review turnover dossiers, manufacturing record books, and final quality dossiers.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams regarding quality matters.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related discipline.
- Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001 preferred.
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2, BGAS, NACE, API, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, offshore, or petrochemical projects.
- Minimum 5 years of ADNOC, ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major Middle East offshore project experience.
- Strong experience in offshore platforms, pipelines, topsides, brownfield, and greenfield projects.
- Experience in fabrication yards, offshore construction, and commissioning activities.
