JR. PROJECT ENGINEER
Summary:
This position will require working independently on challenging and demanding projects to complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. It will require mechanical design and project management skills to construct skids, lances, headers, showers, and systems from the initial design phase to the commission phase: include trouble-shooting, shipping, and testing. In addition, this position entails working with Lechler’s project & design engineers, manufacturers, purchasing, suppliers, and customers’ engineers to solve situational problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
- Review and determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, including technical studies and industry applicable standards.
- Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plan with management.
- Determine project schedule and stakeholders by identifying project phases and elements.
- Perform engineering calculations for liquids and gases in pipes including, but not limited to pipe sizing, pressure drops, allowable pressures, allowable fluid velocities.
- Specify and select equipment such as pump/fan and control valve specifications to meet customer and Lechler standards and specifications.
- Manage effective and transparent communication with all project stakeholders
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
- Use sound judgment to apply design standards and specifications to determine the most cost-effective fabrication methods.
- Develop and apply Lechler standards and test procedures to validate required performance.
- Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
- Create functional descriptions and process flow diagrams for the automation/PLC programming of fluid handling equipment.
- Commission projects that include mechanical and electrical components.
- Document, maintain, and organize files according to Lechler, Inc. QMS standards.
- Create operation manuals to meet Lechler and customer standards and specifications.
- General Project Management to include:
- Customer correspondences and visits
- Drawings and documentation
- Fabrication
- Cost control
- Quality
- Document all customer trip reports and fill out expense reports in a timely manner.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
