Jumbo Bag Stitching Operator
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial stitching machines used in the production of jumbo bags (also known as FIBCs – Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers).
- Prepare materials by inspecting fabric, identifying defects, and ensuring proper alignment before stitching.
- Perform accurate and consistent stitching according to product specifications, including seam strength, stitch count, and pattern alignment.
- Conduct routine machine checks, perform basic maintenance, and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Monitor production output to ensure adherence to daily targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot stitching issues and improve process efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of materials and machinery, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in material handling, including loading/unloading fabric rolls and preparing components for stitching.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S principles and company standards.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a machine operator or stitching operator in a manufacturing or textile environment.
- Proven experience in stitching jumbo bags or similar industrial fabric products.
- Familiarity with industrial sewing machines, including troubleshooting common operational issues.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, work instructions, and quality checklists.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency in stitching.
- Basic understanding of material handling and safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
