Junior + Backend Developer

We are looking for a motivated Junior+ Backend Developer to join our development team.

As a Junior+ Backend Developer, you will work together with experienced developers to develop, maintain, and improve existing and new web projects. You will be involved in backend development, database-related tasks, debugging, integrations, and ongoing support of company projects.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who already has practical PHP/Laravel experience and wants to grow their technical skills while working on real-world projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend functionality for company projects
• Implement new features and improvements
• Provide ongoing support and bug fixing for existing solutions
• Write clean, readable, and reusable code
• Work with databases and develop SQL queries
• Integrate external APIs and third-party services
• Participate in debugging and troubleshooting of applications
• Work with Git and follow the team’s development workflow
• Work with Linux systems and basic server-side tasks
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Follow development tasks and priorities defined by the team lead
• Learn and apply new technologies and development best practices
• Communicate with other developers, QA, and other team members

Requirements

• 1+ year of commercial or practical experience in web development
• Good understanding of PHP
• Basic to intermediate experience with Laravel
• Good understanding of SQL
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience with Git
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Bash commands
• Understanding of REST APIs and basic API integration concepts
• Basic understanding of MVC and OOP principles
• Ability to read and understand existing code
• Ability to research solutions and learn new technologies independently
• Attention to detail and responsible attitude toward tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a development team
• Good time-management and problem-solving skills
• Intermediate English or higher
• On-site work from office in Kyiv or in Tirana

Would be a plus

• Experience with WordPress
• Experience with Docker
• Basic knowledge of Nginx or Apache
• Experience with Laravel queues, jobs, events, and scheduled tasks
• Understanding of database migrations and optimization
• Experience with Linux server administration
• Familiarity with PHPUnit or other testing frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD
