Junior Data Project Manager

We are seeking a Junior Data Project Manager to support the planning and delivery of data and cloud-related projects. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to coordinate project activities, track progress, manage documentation, and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project planning, scope definition, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate data project activities across requirements, data sourcing, ETL/ELT, testing, deployment, and handover.
  • Work with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and technical teams to track project progress.
  • Assist in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and action items, and escalate where necessary.
  • Support Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with data quality, validation, governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate testing activities including data validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Track project schedules, resources, costs, and vendor deliverables where applicable.
  • Maintain project documentation, status reports, meeting minutes, and risk/issue registers.
  • Support production deployment, data migration, change management, and post-implementation activities.
  • Assist in monitoring project outcomes against agreed objectives and KPIs.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in project coordination, technology projects, data projects, or a related environment.
  • Basic understanding of data engineering, data platforms, data warehousing, analytics, or cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with GCP and/or AWS is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of ETL/ELT, PySpark/Scala, data pipelines, metadata management, or scheduling platforms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodologies is preferred.
  • Good analytical, organisational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical and project management capabilities.
