(Junior or Mid) Data Engineer - AI, Data Quality & Automation
Summary
Build and automate data pipelines, implement AI-driven reporting, and enforce data quality using Dataiku and Python/C# in a hybrid Warsaw role.
We are hiring a Data Engineer focusing on AI, data quality and automation. This role offers the opportunity to grow your skills in modern data platforms while making a real impact within the Aviva Services Excellence Centre.
What will you be doing?
- Supporting the integration of AI and automation across the platform, initially focusing on capacity planning and reporting.
- Working with databases and big data to support reporting, analysis, and data preparation activities.
- Helping implement data quality checks and ETL processes using Dataiku.
- Improving reporting processes through machine learning and automation of manual tasks.
- Collaborating with analysts, engineers, and business teams to deliver reliable AI and data solutions.
- Analyzing data and identifying improvement opportunities for stakeholders across the wider platform.
Requirements
- Hands‑on experience with a range of coding languages, preferably Python or C#.
- Interest in or experience with machine learning, AI model development, prompt engineering, and emerging technologies such as AI agents or Agentic AI.
- Understanding of Dataiku or similar data analysis and preparation tools.
- Knowledge of database technologies.
- Interest in testing, automation, and improving data quality processes.
- Understanding of ETL processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, share ideas openly and contribute constructively to team outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience with CI/CD practices and cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Familiarity with actuarial processes.
- Working knowledge of Qlik.
- Experience in data modelling.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to real business problems.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
