Junior Product Designer
Summary
Junior Product Designer at TYR Tactical (tactical gear manufacturer) supporting the product design team on physical product projects: developing prototypes, patterns, and design solutions from concept through production, while collaborating with engineering, production, and quality. Prefers experience with Gerber AccuMark pattern software and sewing/product construction.
Summary of Position:
We are looking for a skilled Junior Product Designer to assist our Product design team in various design projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Understand project scope, product requirements, and design objectives.
· Assist with the development of prototypes, patterns, drafts, and design solutions.
· Collaborate with team members to develop, review, and launch new or revised designs.
· Produce innovative and practical design solutions that consider product functionality and manufacturability.
· Support product development projects from initial concept through completion and production.
· Perform special design and development tasks in support of multiple projects, including pattern or color adjustments as needed.
· Incorporate feedback from Engineering, Production, Quality, and end users to improve product designs.
· Maintain awareness of relevant industry trends, materials, manufacturing methods, and design advancements.
Qualifications:
· 1+ years of experience supporting product design, development, or related projects preferred.
· Portfolio or work examples demonstrating an understanding of product design and development fundamentals.
· Experience using Gerber AccuMark or similar pattern design software preferred.
· Sewing and product construction experience preferred.
· Monitor Production Quality and provide feedback on quality to ensure high-standards are maintained.
· Effectively identifies technical sewing challenges and finds solutions to keep production on schedule
· Strong technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions.
· Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across departments.
· Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
