Junior Project Manager
Summary
Junior Project Manager at retailcloud, a cloud-based retail POS company in Kozhikode: keeps a master delivery tracker and Jira boards accurate, runs Agile ceremonies, tracks risks and release sign-offs, and reports weekly to engineering leadership and US-based stakeholders across POS, mobile, portal, and ERP workstreams.
Company Overview:
Job Responsibilities
Maintain the master delivery tracker for the monthly packet cycle — scope committed, current status, blockers, and slippage — and keep it accurate daily.
Coordinate across the parallel workstreams (Platform, F&B, Mobile POS, Hybrid App, Portal, Omni-Channel, ERP/integrations, ad-hoc projects) to surface cross-team dependencies and risks early.
Own Jira hygiene: ticket states, sprint boards, assignments, and backlog grooming support in partnership with the engineering leads.
Schedule and run recurring ceremonies — standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, release checkpoints — and circulate agendas, notes, and action items with clear owners and dates.
Prepare weekly and packet-cycle status reports for engineering leadership and US-based stakeholders.
Track action items and commitments to closure, following up proactively rather than waiting to be asked.
Maintain project documentation — release notes, requirement trackers, meeting records — in Confluence and the shared repositories.
Support release coordination: readiness checklists, sign-off tracking, and post-release follow-up on open items.
Escalate risks, blockers, and timeline threats to the Reporting Manager promptly and with context.
Progressively take on independent ownership of smaller projects and ad-hoc initiatives as capability develops.
Requirements
0–2 years of experience in project coordination, delivery, or a related technology function; fresh graduates with strong coordination aptitude will be considered.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to write clear status updates for both engineering and US-based stakeholders.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum concepts — sprints, backlogs, standups, release cycles.
Comfortable with spreadsheets and documentation; able to maintain trackers accurately and consistently.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to follow up persistently without needing to be chased.
Preferred: Hands-on exposure to Jira, Confluence, or a comparable tracking tool.
Preferred: Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and release processes.
Preferred: Internship or academic project experience coordinating a multi-person team.
Preferred: Awareness of retail, POS, or payments domain concepts.
