Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Python Developer for a 3-month contract based in Sydney. This role is ideal for someone early in their software development career who is eager to gain hands-on experience working on real-world applications while collaborating with experienced developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of Python-based applications

• Write clean, readable, and well-documented Python code

• Support debugging and fixing issues in existing codebases

• Collaborate with senior developers, QA, and other team members

• Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices

• Help with basic data processing, scripting, or automation tasks

• Learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and technologies as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python

• Understanding of programming fundamentals (OOP, data structures, control flow)

• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems

• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases is a plus

• Exposure to frameworks such as Flask or Django is desirable but not essential

• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Nice to Have

• Experience with REST APIs

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

• Exposure to cloud platforms or Linux environments
