Junior Python Developer
Summary
Build and maintain Python applications, REST APIs, and SQL integrations for a fintech company in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Python.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable Python code following development standards.
- Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.
- Work with SQL databases to write queries, stored procedures, and perform data-related operations.
- Participate in application development, debugging, unit testing, and defect fixing.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with senior developers, business analysts, testers, and other project teams.
- Support application deployment, troubleshooting, and post-production issues.
- Follow Agile/Scrum, Git, CI/CD, and software development best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on development experience in Python.
- Good understanding of Python programming concepts, OOP, data structures, and exception handling.
- Basic experience with REST APIs / JSON / HTTP.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Git/version control.
- Basic understanding of unit testing and debugging.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking, Fintech, Insurance, or other financial services domain.
- Exposure to Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Knowledge of Pandas / NumPy is an added advantage.
- Exposure to Linux/Unix, Docker, CI/CD, or cloud platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial applications, payments, banking systems, or insurance platforms will be advantageous.
