As a Junior System Administrator, you will assist in maintaining and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure. This entry-level role involves ensuring the smooth operation of systems and networks that support immigration processes, including case management and data handling.

Responsibilities
  • System Support: Assist in monitoring and maintaining servers, workstations, and network systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • User Assistance: Provide technical support to staff, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
  • System Setup: Help with the installation and configuration of hardware, software, and network equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic system and network issues under the guidance of senior administrators.
  • Backup Management: Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of system configurations, updates, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Security Maintenance: Assist in implementing basic security measures, such as updating antivirus software and managing user access controls.


Requirements

Knowledge and Experience
  • Diploma or associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support or system administration (internship experience is acceptable).
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Windows and Linux.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of IT tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, remote desktop tools).
  • Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
  • Tanzanian national only.
