Key Account Manager (Marine Lubricants)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective customers within the marine and shipping industry.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively develop a pipeline of marine lubricant sales.
- Manage key accounts, understand customer requirements and provide appropriate lubricant solutions.
- Conduct regular customer visits, meetings and presentations with shipowners, ship managers, technical teams and procurement departments.
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals and sales presentations.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supply arrangements with customers.
- Work closely with internal procurement, operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities, pricing trends and customer requirements.
- Follow up on sales leads and convert opportunities into long-term business relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activities, sales opportunities and account performance.
- Achieve agreed sales, revenue and gross margin targets.
- Attend relevant maritime exhibitions, conferences and networking events to develop new business relationships.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and updates to management.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant sales or account management experience, preferably within the marine, shipping, lubricants, bunker, marine equipment or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the maritime and shipping industry.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, business development or key account management.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Commercially driven with the ability to identify and close new business opportunities.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and technical customers.
- Strong relationship-building and customer management skills.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities when required.
