Job Title: Kitchen Manager / Canteen Division Manager

Monthly Salary: UP to $12,000 (Negotiable)

Working Address: West Coast

Working hours: 44HRS/week

Mon–Fri 6:00am–5:00pm (3-hour break)

Sat 6:00am–10:00am

Responsibilities & Duties:

Menu Planning & Nutrition

  • Plan monthly menus covering three meals a day for students, ensuring meals are nutritionally balanced and include appropriate levels of protein, vitamins and other essential nutrients.

  • Plan well-balanced meals with generous and age-appropriate portions suitable for high school students.

  • Develop appealing breakfast options to encourage students who may tend to skip breakfast.

  • Create and propose new menu items and meal ideas to provide variety.

Cooking & Food Quality

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes using different cooking methods, including baking, grilling, steaming and deep-frying.

  • Handle a wide range of ingredients, including raw fish, meat, poultry, vegetables and other food products.

  • Ensure all food prepared is fresh and meets the required quality standards.

  • Ensure food portions, taste and presentation consistently meet company standards.

  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to daily requirements to ensure adequate supply and minimize food wastage.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure ingredients are properly handled and stored at the correct temperatures to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation in accordance with company requirements.

  • Keep the kitchen, utensils, equipment and work areas clean, hygienic and safe at all times.

Team & Operations Management

  • Lead, train and supervise a team of 8 kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to company standards.

  • Prepare and manage staff duty rosters to ensure adequate manpower coverage.

  • Monitor kitchen supplies and ensure the correct ingredients and supplies are ordered in sufficient quantities.

  • Address enquiries and feedback from students, staff or relevant parties when required.

  • Liaise with school management on kitchen operations, food quality and other relevant matters.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must Have:

  • Proven cooking experience with the ability to be hands-on with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a kitchen team.

  • Ability to plan and prepare nutritionally balanced menus suitable for students.

  • Valid Food Hygiene Certificate, or willingness to obtain one (subject to confirmation with client).

  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with strong personal hygiene practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a school canteen or central kitchen is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in institutional catering, such as schools, hospitals or corporate canteens, will be an advantage.
