Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) Developer

Job Summary: We are seeking a Mid to Senior Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer to join our team building next-generation connected vehicle and IoT platforms. In this role, you will architect, develop, and maintain shared business logic and UI components for cross-platform applications targeting Android and iOS.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and hands-on production experience with Jetpack Compose / Compose Multiplatform. Experience with native iOS development is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cross-Platform Architecture: Design, build, and maintain high-performance shared business logic, networking, and data layers using KMP.
• Modern UI Implementation: Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and Compose Multiplatform (CMP) across common and native layers.
• Platform Integration: Integrate shared Kotlin modules into native Android apps (and iOS targets where applicable).
• Asynchronous & State Management: Implement clean state management patterns (MVI/MVVM) and handle complex asynchronous workflows using Kotlin Coroutines and Flows.
• Connected Services & Hardware: Work with hardware communication protocols, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and integrate vehicle telematics/connected APIs.
• Quality & Performance: Write modular, maintainable, and well-tested code; perform root-cause analysis and cross-platform debugging.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, PMs, native engineers), participate in code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

1. Core Development Experience:3+ years of professional software development experience. Hands-on production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
2. Mandatory UI Frameworks Mandatory: Deep proficiency with Jetpack Compose (Declarative UI). Working experience or strong familiarity with Compose Multiplatform for shared UI.
3. Android Ecosystem & KMP Stack:

• Strong foundation in native Android development.
• Deep understanding of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with core KMP ecosystem libraries:
• Networking: Ktor
• Dependency Injection: Koin
• Persistence: SQLDelight or Multiplatform Settings
• Proficient with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and Git workflows.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

• iOS Development: Working knowledge of iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) and understanding KMP-to-iOS interop (Frameworks, Xcode, SwiftPM).
• Hardware & IoT: Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integration or connected vehicle features.
• DevOps: Experience setting up CI/CD build pipelines for KMP applications (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane).
• Testing: Experience writing unit and UI tests in a cross-platform setup
