Position Overview
The Project Manager will take ownership of jobs from start to finish, providing both hands-on field leadership and strong project administration. The Project Manager will oversee crews, coordinate equipment and personnel, prevailing wage labor requirements, manage project budgets and billing, maintain safety and compliance, work directly with customers, and identify opportunities for additional work.
The ideal candidate is comfortable being in the field, managing people, solving problems, working with customers, and keeping the financial and administrative side of projects organized.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Projects & Crews
- Manage assigned projects from planning through completion. Provide on-site leadership and direction to field crews.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, materials, and resources needed for each project.
- Conduct job walks and inspect project sites to understand scope, conditions, and customer needs.
- Monitor project schedules, progress, quality, and productivity.
- Address field issues quickly and find practical solutions.
- Ensure crews understand project expectations and have the resources needed to be successful.
- Make safety a top priority on every project.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings and inspections.
- Identify hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure required project and compliance documentation is completed.
- Step into any operational role needed to support workflow and continuity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Keep Projects Organized & Profitable
- Ensure compliance with contract obligations and prevailing wage requirements.
- Ensure job sheets, time records, equipment records, and other project documentation are accurate and completed on time.
- Track labor, equipment, materials, and other project costs.
- Monitor project budgets and profitability.
- Assist with project billing and ensure all billable work is properly documented.
- Review completed work, quantities, change orders, and supporting documentation for billing.
- Identify and communicate potential cost overruns or project concerns to management.
Grow Customer Relationships
- Develop strong, professional relationships with customers.
- Serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project.
- Communicate project schedules, progress, concerns, and solutions clearly.
- Respond to customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Build relationships that lead to repeat business and long-term customer partnerships.
Business Development Focus
- Conduct job walks to identify additional work opportunities.
- Recognize customer needs and potentially change orders.
- Prepare or assist with estimates and bids for additional work.
- Communicate additional work opportunities to customers and management.
- Help grow existing customer accounts and contribute to new business opportunities.

Education and Experience Required
- 2 years of project management, construction, field operations, or related industry experience.
- Associate's degree or certification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience managing employees and field operations.
- Knowledge of waste stream types, materials, waste handling, safety protocols for
- hazardous and nonhazardous.
- Valid driver's license.
- 2 years of customer service experience in service-based waste or environmental settings.
- Confined space rescue knowledge and training (or willingness to obtain)
- Hazwopper 40 training (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with estimates, bids, Davis-Beacon, and change orders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Computer literacy, including email communication and digital documentation, and project management software.
- Project budgets, costs, billing, and profitability.
- Ability to conduct job walks and understand project scope and site conditions.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
