D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Acquisition Area Manager. The right candidate is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and securing land acquisition opportunities that support the division's growth objectives. This role serves as the primary transaction lead and manages acquisitions from initial identification through contract execution and closing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify and pursue land acquisition opportunities that align with strategic business objectives and housing demand forecasts

  • Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, developers, attorneys, and other stakeholders regarding purchase agreements and transaction terms

  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities through financial analysis, due diligence reviews, and risk assessments

  • Structure transactions to maximize profitability while minimizing financial and operational risk

  • Coordinate due diligence activities and ensure timely completion of entitlement, environmental, engineering, and legal reviews

  • Prepare and present acquisition recommendations to senior leadership for approval

  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, landowners, and industry professionals to generate acquisition opportunities

  • Manage transactions through contract execution, approval processes, and closing activities

  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities

  • Support long-range land planning and growth initiatives

  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

  • Ability to travel overnight
