About the Launch Engineer

Launch Engineer responsibilities are:

  • Manage business relationships with the corporate support team and customers

  • Responsible for ensuring the overall success of new program launches including interfacing with internal/external team members

  • Develop new business and expand product line including business case reviews

  • Complete financial assessment of the program including early identification of anticipated costs and revenues

  • Manage program spending

  • Develop cross functional team and communication plan

  • Hold weekly program team reviews to review open issues and timing

  • Development of appropriate action plans to improve where necessary

  • Develop Lessons Learned/Best Practices with a cross-functional team

  • Report out to the program management Gateway Reviews

  • Create Program timing plans for launch of programs

  • Manage ideas and timing within the OI Roadmap

  • Review and manage ECN/RFQ's for the program to ensure that timing and cost objectives are met

  • Lead the program team utilizing the company's Global Development and Launch System Software

  • Act as an advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations

Launch Engineer requirements are:

  • 5-7 years' experience of working on a Launch Engineer or other relevant position

  • Significant experience with design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD

  • Profound knowledge of industry rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards

  • Experience of working in Injection Molding

  • Strong project management and supervision skills

  • Good practical experience with MS Office skills

  • Good decision making ability and leadership skills

  • Good time management and organization skills

  • BS degree in Engineering or relevant field

  • Must be able to stand for multiple hours and be able to lift 15-20 lbs when required
  • Must be able to work additional hours as required during new program launches
