Lead API Integration Developer

Salary: $155 - $170ph (inc-Super) - weekly pay options

• Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne address
• 12+12 month contract - 37.5hrs per week
• Lead API integration of enterprise systems

Our client, an independent Federal Government agency responsible for implementing and administering the National Disability Insurance Scheme, require the services of a Lead API Integration Developer.

Duties of the Lead API Integration Developer

• Lead the design, development & operation of the digital platform services & APIs that power web applications, portals & mobile applications;
• Provide technical leadership for the API platform that connects digital channels with enterprise systems, including Salesforce & MuleSoft-based integrations, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, reliable & aligned with long-term architecture objectives;
• Work closely with architects, frontend development teams, platform engineers, Salesforce teams & integration specialists, establishing engineering standards, guiding technical decision‑making & mentoring developers while remaining actively involved in solution delivery;
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI‑assisted software development, automated testing, cloud‑native architectures & continuous delivery approaches.

Skills and Experience required

• Demonstrated experience leading the design, development & delivery of enterprise‑scale backend services, API platforms & integration solutions;
• Strong technical expertise in Golang, GraphQL, API architecture, authentication & authorisation patterns, service‑to‑service communication & modern integration approaches.
• Demonstrated experience designing & operating cloud‑native applications using Kubernetes, AWS services including Amazon EKS, & contemporary platform engineering practices;
• Demonstrated experience leveraging contemporary AI‑assisted software engineering tools to accelerate delivery;
• Experience designing & operating consumer‑facing API platforms that support multiple digital channels, including web, portal & mobile applications (desired);
• Experience implementing & supporting Cloudflare technologies, including Zero Trust, Access, Tunnels & edge security capabilities (desired);
• Experience designing integration architectures involving Salesforce, MuleSoft or comparable enterprise platforms (desired);
• Experience working within government, regulated or highly governed technology environments (desired).
