Lead Assistant Manager
- Own the complete IT Asset Management portfolio end-to-end, from procurement through deployment, operational lifecycle management, license/contract compliance, and final disposal.
- Manage both Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM), including desktops, laptops, servers, network devices, printers and related peripherals.
- Maintain deep working knowledge of IT asset processes, policies, and vendor/OEM software contracts and licensing terms (Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, Adobe, McAfee and other major OEMs).
Procurement & Onboarding:
- Lead reviews of asset procurement vs. stock vs. demand to provide management with a monthly view of cost spend.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on procurement, licensing agreements, and delivery challans/PO reconciliation.
- Prepare and provide budgeting analysis to the Finance team to support expense planning.
Deployment & Operational Management:
- Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software assets across the enterprise.
- Manage the complete IT asset lifecycle through a central database / ITAM tool (e.g., ServiceNow/SNOW, SCCM, Crowd strike, Absolute, ADDM).
- Plan, monitor, and record hardware assets and software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
- Manage growth and ramp-ups with respect to asset requirements, and coordinate with vendors to handle calls single-handedly with minimal intervention.
Compliance, License & Contract Management:
- Own end-to-end software license compliance across the full software portfolio, driving cost optimization through effective license management.
- Perform HAM reconciliation, Fixed Asset register (FAR) v/s ServiceNow (Procured/in use/In stock/Lost missing/Unrecovered) understand agreements, and know how to produce compliance reports
- Manage HAM audits end-to-end, along with related business audits.
- Streamline existing processes and continuously revamp IT Asset policies and procedures.
- Asset dispatch / Reverse pickup from Separation user and extra assets issued to users
- End to end follow-ups with end user for asset recovery and write off unrecovered assets etc,
Reporting & Analytics:
- Generate and publish compliance and status reports on current assets, including trend analysis.
- Analyze and interpret performance of vendor-related transactions (e.g., Delivery Challans, Form 38, Invoices, PO numbers) to keep support issues to a minimum.
- Suggest and recommend automation opportunities to simplify and improve database accuracy and reporting.
Disposal & End-of-Life Management
- Manage the retirement and disposal stage of the asset lifecycle, ensuring assets are decommissioned, data-wiped, and disposed of in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile disposed/retired assets against the central database to keep lifecycle records accurate and audit-ready.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong, well-rounded knowledge of IT Assets (Desktop, Laptop, Printer, Server, Network, etc.) across an IT/ITES/BPO environment.
- Hands-on experience configuring IT assets and resolving day-to-day issues related to IT incidents and service requests.
- Working knowledge of Asset Management policies and procedures, and experience with standardized ITAM processes at an enterprise level.
- Hands-on experience with ITAM tools such as BMC Remedy, SCCM, Crowd Strike, Absolute, ADDM and similar platforms.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint and MS Office; ability to automate and simplify manual/repetitive tasks.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret vendor-related transactions and data from multiple sources.
- Working knowledge of HAM reconciliation SCCM/Procurement Inventory, and related sources.
- Sound understanding of compliance reporting for major OEMs and the ability to work with vendors to resolve hardware queries.
- Excellent communication skills — able to coordinate confidently and professionally with internal stakeholders, suppliers and vendors.
- Good coordination and stakeholder-management skills to liaise across suppliers, vendors and internal business/technology teams.
- Working knowledge of Configuration Management and its relationship to Asset Management; understanding how to build CI relationships for major CIs.
- Familiarity with SLAs pertaining to Service Requests, Incidents and Asset Management.
- Exposure to process improvement frameworks such as Six Sigma, Lean, DMAIC, SIPOC would be an added advantage.
- Must have Grade 12/ Matric
