Lead Backend Developer (Golang, Python)

We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer with strong expertise in Golang and Python to join our team. In this role, you will drive the technical direction, architect cloud-based, microservice-oriented backend services, and mentor a team of engineers. You will work with modern technologies and distributed systems to deliver scalable, reliable, and enterprise-grade solutions, while shaping engineering standards and best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and architecture for cloud-based backend services using a microservice approach
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend components, primarily with Go and complemented by Python
• Architect APIs and services using the FastAPI framework, ensuring consistency and reusability across products
• Establish patterns for asynchronous solutions with Asyncio and guide their adoption across teams
• Own scalability, performance, and reliability strategies across distributed systems
• Oversee deployment and management of containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes
• Set standards for working with relational and NoSQL databases and guide data modeling decisions
• Design, evolve, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline delivery processes across teams
• Enforce SOLID principles, clean architecture, and engineering best practices across the codebase
• Mentor and coach engineers, conduct code reviews, and support their professional growth
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical decisions with business goals
• Drive technical decision-making, evaluate new technologies, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
• Deep knowledge of software development principles, including SOLID, clean architecture, and design patterns
• Strong background in architecting and delivering cloud-based, microservice-oriented backend services at scale
• Expert-level proficiency in Go and solid mid-level+ proficiency in Python, including FastAPI and Asyncio
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability in distributed systems, with hands-on experience solving complex challenges
• Advanced skills in Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized application orchestration
• Solid experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Strong competency in relational and NoSQL databases, including data architecture and optimization
• Proven experience designing and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ level)

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of AWS
• Experience with GitOps / ArgoCD
• Experience contributing to hiring, technical interviewing, or building engineering teams
