Description

Salary: Great Day Rates on Offer!

Build the data products that influence enterprise-wide decisions!

We are working on an opportunity for a hands-on BI and analytics specialist who's ready to take technical ownership of a major organisation's workforce insights function.

This isn't a traditional people-management role. It's an opportunity to combine advanced Power BI, SQL and data modelling with genuine technical leadership and direct exposure to senior executives.

You'll own the end-to-end workforce analytics environment, turning complex data into insights that shape decisions around headcount, retention, remuneration, recruitment and strategic workforce planning.

Why this role stands out:
  • Set the technical direction, own architecture and mentor other analysts while remaining hands-on with SQL, DAX, Power Query and Power BI.
  • Your work reaches the executive level. Partner with senior leaders to turn business challenges into insights that influence real workforce decisions.
  • Complex data, enterprise scale. Work across HRIS, payroll and data warehouse environments, bringing disparate datasets together into trusted, scalable reporting solutions.
  • Own the full analytics lifecycle. From SQL Server views and stored procedures through to semantic models, advanced DAX and executive dashboards.
  • Room to innovate. Help improve data quality, automate reporting and explore Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and building enterprise Power BI dashboards, semantic models and complex DAX measures.
  • Developing and optimising SQL Server queries, views, stored procedures and data integration processes.
  • Using Power Query and M to transform complex datasets into reliable, decision-ready information.
  • Working directly with senior stakeholders to define requirements and communicate insights in clear, commercially relevant terms.
  • Establishing technical standards, improving reporting governance and mentoring fellow analysts.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience delivering BI, reporting or analytics solutions in complex data environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, advanced DAX, semantic modelling and performance optimisation.
  • Solid SQL Server skills, including stored procedures, views and query optimisation.
  • Advanced Power Query / M and experience building robust data pipelines.
  • The ability to translate technical analysis into meaningful business outcomes.
  • Experience with workforce or HR analytics is beneficial, but strong enterprise BI experience and the ability to handle sensitive data are equally relevant.

You'll join a large Australian organisation undergoing ongoing transformation, with a flexible hybrid working environment, modern data technologies and the opportunity to make a tangible impact beyond the reporting function.
