Due to continued growth, we are hiring a Lead Business Analyst to lead, develop and grow the Business Analysis function for our client in the public sector. This is a hands-on leadership role with significant scope to shape how the BA team operates, establishing standards, processes and best-practice ways of working while supporting the delivery of high-quality business analysis across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the review and analysis of business processes, services and information needs to identify improvement opportunities.
Produce feasibility studies, business models and detailed specifications, overseeing solution delivery and change impact.
Define how technology supports business objectives, validating strategy against real business needs.
Liaise with management on process and organisational change.
Act as BA team lead for a relatively new team, with real scope to shape how it works and grows.
Support recruitment and team growth, and maps team SOPs and processes to establish consistent ways of working.
Support new joiners' onboarding and acts as a point of guidance and mentoring for the wider BA team.
Establish and embed best-practice Business Analysis standards, processes and ways of working across the team.
Coordinate business stakeholders and specialists across joint projects, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and maturity of the BA function.
Requirements:
7+ years' experience in Business Analysis or a related field, including experience leading or mentoring others.
Applies best-practice principles and embeds them as team standards.
Experience coordinating business stakeholders and specialists across joint projects.
Strong communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to turn this into clear SOPs and processes for others.
Works well under pressure, manages time effectively, and is adaptable and self-motivated.
Detail-oriented and organised, with a genuine interest in team-building and coaching.
Able to establish consistent ways of working and bring structure to a developing BA function.
Comfortable taking ownership and providing direction within a growing team.
