Lead Buyer IT/Telco
The IT & Telco procurement team supports ArcelorMittal’s digital, technology and telecommunications needs across a global industrial environment. The team partners with business and technical stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies, manage key suppliers and deliver competitive, sustainable and compliant procurement outcomes.
We are looking for a high-quality procurement professional who can contribute to strategic sourcing for IT & Telco categories. The role will focus on value creation, supplier performance, commercial excellence and stakeholder partnership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT & Telco categories, including major projects, renewals and supplier roadmaps.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing events, from market analysis and tender preparation to supplier selection, negotiation and contract award.
- Drive value through TCO analysis, benchmarking, bundling opportunities, savings delivery and cost avoidance.
- Build strong partnerships with IT, business stakeholders, legal, finance and suppliers to align sourcing decisions with business priorities.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance reviews, including risk, innovation, service quality and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate robust commercial and contractual terms in line with ArcelorMittal governance, compliance and procurement policies.
- Prepare clear execution plans, track progress and report key achievements, risks and decisions in a concise and structured way.
- Depending on seniority, guide or coordinate buyers and operational support teams to ensure smooth contract and PO execution.
Profile Required:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Economics or equivalent. MBA or degree from a leading business school is a strong advantage.
- Relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, consulting, supply chain, business development or commercial roles.
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation capability and ability to manage complex supplier and stakeholder discussions.
- Good understanding of contracts, TCO, supplier performance, risk management and procurement governance.
- Ability to work across functions, cultures and seniority levels in an international environment.
- Comfortable with data, Excel and procurement systems such as SAP; e-sourcing or source-to-contract tools are a plus.
- Knowledge of IT, software, cloud, digital services or telecommunications sourcing is an advantage, but not a strict requirement for high-potential profiles.
- Fluent in English. Any additional European language is a plus.
