Perfection Group is hiring a Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to serve commercial and industrial customers throughout Louisville and the surrounding market.

This is a hands-on field role for an experienced technician who can independently solve complex equipment problems, build trusted customer relationships, and provide credible technical leadership. You’ll continue working directly on equipment while serving as a resource when other technicians encounter challenging service issues.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and technical capabilities

  • Overtime paid after eight hours worked in a day

  • Double time for work performed on observed holidays and between midnight and 6:00 a.m.

  • Paid drive time after the first 30 minutes of your commute each way

  • Take-home company vehicle with fuel, maintenance, and operating costs paid by Perfection Group

  • Weekly on-call stipend equal to seven hours of your regular hourly rate when scheduled for rotation

  • Additional pay for call-outs and qualifying after-hours work

  • Company-provided major tools, technology, uniforms, and PPE

  • Safety boot reimbursement

  • Paid company and manufacturer technical training

  • Company-paid medical coverage for associate-only plans

  • Dental and vision coverage

  • Company-paid life insurance

  • Company-paid short- and long-term disability coverage

  • Paid time off and paid parental leave

  • Floating holiday

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Annual profit sharing

  • Employee referral bonus program

  • Year-round commercial and industrial service work

  • Opportunities to expand your technical and leadership capabilities

The Work

You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment at customer facilities throughout Louisville and the surrounding service area.

Depending on the customer and assignment, equipment may include:

  • Chillers and chilled-water systems

  • Boilers and hydronic systems

  • Packaged rooftop units

  • Split systems and heat pumps

  • Air-handling and make-up air systems

  • Commercial refrigeration equipment

  • Variable-frequency drives

  • Building automation and HVAC control systems

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and controls-related problems

  • Identifying root causes and developing safe, practical repair solutions

  • Managing advanced service calls independently from diagnosis through completion

  • Performing preventive maintenance that improves equipment reliability, efficiency, and service life

  • Clearly explaining equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommended solutions to customers

  • Identifying necessary parts and completing repairs according to manufacturer specifications and safe work practices

  • Providing field support and technical guidance to less-experienced technicians

  • Helping teammates work through difficult service issues without simply taking over the call

  • Reinforcing safe work practices, quality standards, and effective service procedures

  • Sharing technical knowledge and helping strengthen the team’s overall capabilities

  • Maintaining accurate service notes, repair documentation, and follow-up information

  • Coordinating effectively with dispatch, customers, leadership, and other technicians

  • Participating in a rotating emergency on-call schedule, including nights and weekends

  • Maintaining an organized company vehicle, tools, inventory, equipment, and work area

  • Participating in company- and manufacturer-provided technical and safety training

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of commercial or industrial HVAC service and repair experience

  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience independently managing complex commercial service calls

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and systems

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and controls systems

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and control sequences

  • Ability to provide patient, practical, and credible technical guidance to other technicians

  • Clear, professional communication with customers, dispatch, leadership, and teammates

  • Dependability, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through

  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected and accountable to the team

  • Commitment to safe, accurate, high-quality work

  • Universal EPA Section 608 certification

  • Current Kentucky Journeyman HVAC Mechanic license

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Experience with chillers, boilers, commercial refrigeration, building automation, or advanced controls is highly valued, but we do not expect one technician to be an expert in every system.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an HVAC trade-school program, apprenticeship, manufacturer training, or equivalent technical education is preferred. Comparable advanced commercial field experience will also be considered.
