Lead Construction Manager - Data Center

Discussion
  • Construction Oversight & Monitoring: Manage daily on-site construction activities, inspect progress, and ensure strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and schedule baselines.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management: Supervise main contractor, subcontractors, and specialist trade vendors. Lead progress meetings, evaluate performance, and resolve claims or field disputes proactively.
  • Cost & Change Control: Review contractor payment applications, variation requests, change orders, and delay claims. Ensure value engineering and budget discipline without compromising scope or quality.
  • Schedule & Progress Tracking: Audit contractor master schedules, baseline updates, and look-ahead plans. Identify bottlenecks early, evaluate critical path impacts, and enforce recovery strategies when delays occur.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety (QA/QC & HSE): Coordinate alongside EoR & Client on strict quality standards, witness inspections/tests, and oversee non-conformance report (NCR) resolution. Ensure complete adherence to client safety policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Interface regularly with client executive teams, design architects, engineering consultants, local government authorities, and utility providers.
  • Handover & Closeout: Direct testing, commissioning, punch-list inspections, practical completion certification, and statutory compliance documentation for final asset handover.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in construction management, with significant exposure working within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) framework.
  • Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), or Chartered Membership (e.g., IEM, RICS, PE) and added advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Primavera P6/MS Project, BIM workflows (Navisworks, Revit), project controls, and contract management (FIDIC Yellow Book 1999).
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, structural frameworks, and MEP integration.
  • Excellent analytical abilities for claims assessment and risk mitigation.
  • Outstanding communication skills for client reporting and multi-disciplinary team alignment.
