Lead Data Analyst

Summary

Lead a data team analyzing player behavior in free-to-play games, defining KPIs for engagement/revenue, and translating insights into product decisions for design, monetization, and live ops teams.

This is a remote position.

Why this role matters

Every decision we make — from game design to monetization — should be grounded in player data. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Lead Data Analyst to build the foundation of our data practice, lead a small analytics team, and turn raw player behavior into insights that drive features, optimize performance, and fuel growth. You’ll work cross-functionally with design, product, marketing, and live ops to ensure we’re not just making games — we’re making the right ones.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on autonomy, strategic thinking, and getting their hands dirty in the data.

What you’ll do
  • Own end-to-end analytics strategy across multiple titles

  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of analysts focused on product, player, and monetization data

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for game health, engagement, and revenue

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for internal teams

  • Collaborate with game designers and PMs to support feature design and balancing

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels

  • Champion a data-first culture across product, design, and leadership

Requirements

Who you are
  • 5+ years in data analytics or product analytics, ideally in gaming or mobile tech

  • Proven leadership experience — team lead, senior IC with mentorship, or similar

  • Fluent in SQL, and skilled in tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI

  • Strong understanding of F2P gaming metrics (retention, LTV, churn, ARPU, etc.)

  • Experience working directly with product, live ops, or monetization teams

  • Strong communication skills — able to tailor messaging to execs, designers, and devs

  • Comfortable driving analytics priorities in a fast-moving environment

Nice to have
  • Experience with mobile analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Firebase, GameAnalytics)

  • Knowledge of A/B testing, cohort analysis, and statistical rigor

  • Familiarity with Python or R for deeper analysis

  • Past experience scaling data practices in a startup or growth-stage game studio

  • Background in behavioral science, marketing analytics, or user segmentation
