Lead Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer
The banking industry is undergoing a period of dynamic change and Transaction Banking (TxB) – the Payments, Cards and Trade Solution area – is at the heart of the digital, instant and open revolution. We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer with strong stakeholder management skills to create actionable customer insights, identify new revenue opportunities, improve execution on strategies using data and further develop our analytical platform.

Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders, capture requirements and conduct workshops.
- Provide functional leadership to the software engineering and ML/AI area to strengthen the team.
- Utilise data analytics to build products that allow strategic decision‑making, growth of income and improvement of operational efficiency.
- Identify business opportunities (e.g., sales leads, merchant intelligence) using internal and external data.
- Apply data‑science techniques such as statistical modelling, machine learning and AI.
- Be responsible for the development of the technical analytical platform for Data Science.
- Support and collaborate closely with other team members.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Data Scientist or similar, with advanced statistical techniques, machine learning and AI.
- Business consulting mindset, proactive stakeholder engagement.
- End‑to‑end software engineering skills.
- Deep knowledge in SQL and programming (Python).
- Solid experience in Airflow, dbt and Snowflake (or similar tools).
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Experience in data/analytics engineering.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Social, curious and pragmatic team player.
- Experience in Requirements Management and workshop facilitation an advantage.
- Experience in Transaction Banking or Payments/Cards an advantage.
- Academic degree (MSc/BSc/BA) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics or related quantitative field.
