Lead DevOps Engineer

ob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform/DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead our production support initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in managing production workloads and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of technologies such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, Kafka, and Java Microservices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the SRE workstream, focusing on the reliability and performance of production systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot production workloads, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize microservices architecture.
• Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to prevent issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system architecture, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses of incidents and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members in DevOps practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance our platform capabilities.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and principles.
• Expertise in managing production workloads on OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Kafka and its integration with microservices.
• Solid understanding of Java Microservices architecture and development.
• Experience in incident management and troubleshooting production issues.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of security best practices in a DevOps environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE are a plus.
