This Federal Government organisation is undertaking significant digital and data transformation initiatives and is seeking an experienced Lead Domain / Data Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership across complex enterprise environments.
Your new role
As the Lead Domain / Data Architect, you will define and maintain the target-state architecture and strategic roadmap for a major data domain, ensuring solutions and investments align with organisational priorities, enterprise architecture principles and security requirements.
You will provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, governance forums and delivery teams, while guiding architecture decisions across multiple programs and technology initiatives. This role will also lead to the resolution of complex architectural challenges, identify opportunities for reuse and standardisation, and support long-term technology planning.
What you'll need to succeed
- 8+ years' experience delivering enterprise-scale data architecture initiatives
- Experience operating at a Principal Architect, Lead Architect or equivalent senior level
- Strong background in developing architecture strategies, roadmaps, standards and governance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic architectural advice
- Extensive experience in enterprise data management, data modelling, data governance and data security
- Strong understanding of modern enterprise technology environments
- Experience analysing complex dependencies, risks and technology trade-offs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Government experience within large, complex environments
- TOGAF, Azure or AWS architecture certifications
- Experience delivering major cloud transformation programs
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, architecture or related disciplines
This is a high-profile architecture position offering the opportunity to influence enterprise data strategy and technology direction within a complex government environment. The contract is for an initial 12 months with a further 12-month extension option available.
