Role - Role Summary


We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead Architect (Director) to join a major Defence program delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for defining and governing solution architecture, managing technical delivery across multiple workstreams, and ensuring successful implementation of complex enterprise platforms. You will provide end-to-end oversight of technical dependencies, solution integrity, security, data management and delivery outcomes while working closely with program leadership, vendors and executive stakeholders.

This role is suited to a senior technology leader with extensive experience delivering enterprise transformation programs, strong architecture capabilities, and prior Defence project experience.

Key Responsibilities


· Lead the development and governance of enterprise and solution architectures across the program

· Define scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions aligned with business objectives

· Manage end-to-end technical delivery across multiple projects and vendor teams

· Oversee technical dependencies, integration roadmaps and delivery sequencing

· Ensure architecture and delivery outcomes align with agreed program objectives and standards

· Provide strategic guidance on software engineering, cloud platforms and solution design

· Establish and maintain data governance, quality and security frameworks

· Identify and manage technical risks, issues and mitigation strategies

· Collaborate with executive stakeholders, business leaders and delivery teams

· Ensure compliance with Defence security, regulatory and information assurance requirements

· Drive successful delivery of business capabilities through phased implementation approaches

· Maintain accountability for technical integrity, quality, cost and delivery outcomes



Required Skills & Experience

· Minimum 15 years' experience in enterprise ICT environments with architecture and delivery leadership responsibilities

· Demonstrated experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation programs

· Strong Enterprise Architecture and solution design experience across complex environments

· Expertise designing integrated SaaS, cloud and hybrid technology ecosystems

· Deep understanding of Azure services, cloud architecture and platform foundations

· Experience designing secure, scalable and highly available enterprise solutions

· Strong understanding of data architecture, governance and system-of-record principles

· Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors and large stakeholder groups

· Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences

· Strong experience managing technical interdependencies, risks and program delivery outcomes

· Experience with business process orchestration, integration architecture and modern application delivery approaches

· Strong understanding of security-by-design principles and enterprise governance frameworks



Qualifications & Clearance



· Prior Defence project experience is essential

· Experience working within Defence or highly secure Government environments is highly regarded

· Strong understanding of Defence security principles and secure solution delivery

· Relevant Architecture, Cloud or Technology certifications highly regarded

Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
