As part of the Global Engineering Design team, you will contribute to the end-to-end product development lifecycle by creating and validating CAD designs for automotive systems such as Body-in-White (BIW), Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, and Electrical systems.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure design quality, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering standards. Depending on experience, you may also mentor designers and support project execution.

  • Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D CAD models and assemblies of plastic components using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX)
  • Deliver designs aligned with engineering standards and project timelines
  • Capable to virtually perform both static and dynamic checks using Catia V5 & 3DX
  • Ensure alignment between CAD models and BOM data
  • Support design validation using inputs from CAE/CFD analysis and testing
  • Proficient in deciding manufacturing feasibility, assembly feasibility and service feasibility.
  • Manage design data using PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter). Good knowledge in using vismockup tool.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • (For senior candidates) Lead a small team by guiding and mentoring junior designers

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience

  • 3–6 years (Senior Engineer) OR 6–10 years (Lead Engineer) in automotive product development
  • At least 4+ years of hands-on CATIA V5 experience

Required Skills

  • Strong CAD modelling skills (CATIA V5 / 3DX)
  • Understanding of automotive systems (at least one domain preferred)
  • Experience with:
    • BOM management
    • Design validation processes
    • Engineering standards and manufacturability

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to FMEA, Six Sigma, or quality tools
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle
  • Basic awareness of cost considerations and materials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in global, cross-cultural environments

Additional Information

  • Opportunity to work with global teams and advanced automotive technologies
